Boundary-Pushing Competitions
At The Dance Duel, we are committed to innovation and excellence. Our competition format encourages dancers to explore and blend different styles, fostering creativity and versatility. Offering a multi-level system with specific guidelines will ensure every piece is on a level playing field.
Revolutionary Judging System
We’ve revamped the traditional judging process to ensure fairness and accuracy. Multiple judging panels rotate every second or third piece, keeping judges fresh and their critiques precise. By dividing the scoresheet into Choreography and Execution sections, we provide detailed, constructive feedback that dancers can use to improve their performance.
Comprehensive Support
Every piece begins with “Mat Time,” a scheduled warm-up period allowing dancers and teachers to perfect their lifts, acrobatics, and routines. If you have a prop that is wider or taller than a single door, you may not be able to use it during mat time depending on venue limitations. This ensures that each performance is polished and ready for the stage.
All-Star Dance Style Division
Introducing our All-Star Dance Style Division, where dancers compete at a collegiate level. This division features higher scoring standards and requires each piece to be performed twice on separate days. After the first performance, dancers receive immediate feedback and have the opportunity to refine their routines for an even stronger showing on Day 2.
